- Eligibility to apply for awards, abstracts and funding established by CSIM to recognize, support, and acknowledge general internists, residents and medical students.
- Register for the CSIM Annual Meeting at discounted rates, and attend virtual workshops at no cost.
- CSIM Members and Associates in good standing are exempt from the Article Processing Charge of $750 (USD) to publish in the Canadian Journal of General Internal Medicine (CJGIM).
- Benefit from CSIM’s collaboration with other GIM societies and organizations such as the American College of Physicians, the Association of Internal Medicine Specialists of Quebec, and others.
- With the support of its members, the CSIM represents the voice of General Internal Medicine in Canada, and advocates for high-quality training and a clear, consistent pathway for future internists and general internists, provides important education, and supports well-being and resource stewardship initiatives.
Membership Categories and Rates
Full Membership – $340
Physicians who hold specialty certification in internal medicine by The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or certification in internal medicine by le Collège des médecins du Québec. For savings and convenience, sign up for a 3- or 5- year membership and save 5% or 10%!
Resident Associate – No cost
Physicians who are enrolled in an internal medicine residency training program accredited by The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or le Collège des médecins du Québec. Individuals are eligible to be Resident Associates during training, including fellowship, and receive a 50% discount on their first two years of Full Membership dues!
Medical Student Associate – No cost
Medical students who are enrolled in a Canadian medical school.
Allied Health Professional Associate – $75
Canadian health care professionals working in the field of general internal medicine which may include nurses, technicians, health educators and others.
Physician Associate – $150
Canadian physicians (such as family physicians, hospitalists and others) with an interest in general internal medicine, but not certified in internal medicine
Senior Associate – No cost
Available to physicians who have been CSIM Full Members in good standing for at least five years, who are retiring from active practice. Please contact the CSIM for more information.
Fees are billed annually and are subject to taxes.
