CSIM Annual Meeting 2024
October 16-19, 2024 | Hamilton, ON

Choosing Wisely Canada is the national voice for reducing unnecessary tests and treatments in Canada. Choosing Wisely Canada works with national clinician societies to identify and develop recommendations on frequently overused tests and treatments that do not add value to patient care. It mobilizes health care providers and their organizations to adopt the recommendations and make them part of routine practice.
Choosing Wisely Canada has partnered with the Canadian Society of Internal Medicine and the Canadian Geriatrics Society to develop a toolkit to support the implementation of interventions designed to reduce overuse of benzodiazepine/sedative-hypnotic drugs in hospital settings.
The Canadian Society of Internal Medicine has also created a list of Fifteen Low-Value Tests, Treatments and Procedures to Question, with a specific focus on carbon-intensive care with the launch of Choosing Wisely Canada’s Planetary Health campaign.
