Learning Objectives

  • Identify the most recent treatment modalities including immunotherapy, CAR-T therapy and antibody drug conjugates.
  • Discuss the pros and cons of cytotoxic versus immunotherapy.
  • Recognize and treat complications of the newer agents such as checkpoint inhibitors, ADCs and what awaits GIM in the next five years.

MOC Accreditation

The live online activity: New Kids on the Oncology Block is an educational activity approved as an Accredited Group Learning Activity under Section 1 of the Framework of Continuing Professional Development options as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. As an accredited provider, CSIM has approved this program for 1 credit hour.

About Dr. Ramy Saleh

Dr. Ramy Saleh is a medical oncologist at the McGill University Health Center and the Medical Director of Oncology Clinical trials at the Center of Innovative Medicine at the RI-MUHC. Dr. Saleh obtained his medical degree at the American University of Beirut before completing his internal medicine and medical oncology training at the MUHC. He also completed a Master’s in Experimental Medicine from McGill University. He then pursued a 2-year fellowship in the Phase I Drug Development Program at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and at the same time obtained a clinical diploma in the Principles and Practice of Clinical Research from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

Dr. Saleh is also the medical director of the Phase I unit at the CIM and co-director of the Jackie Aziz AYA program. His duties include care, teaching and clinical research in Sarcoma and Genito-Urinary malignancies.
