  • Develop a differential diagnosis for encephalitis, including infectious and non-infectious causes.
  • Diagnose new and emerging causes of encephalitis.
  • Cost-effectively investigate patients for encephalitis, recognizing relevant antibodies for work-up.

MOC Accreditation

The live online activity: Encephalitis: How to Stop Being Confused is an educational activity approved as an Accredited Group Learning Activity under Section 1 of the Framework of Continuing Professional Development options as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. As an accredited provider, CSIM has approved this program for 1 credit hour.

About Dr. Alexandra Muccilli

Alex Muccilli is neurologist at the University of Toronto.  She completed her residency at the Université de Montréal, an MEd at the University of Cincinnati, a Neurohospitalist Fellowship at UCSF and an MS and Neuroinflammatory Fellowship in Toronto.  She is the neurology education site director at St. Michael’s Hospital, the co-director of the MS and Neuroinflammatory  Fellowship at the BARLO MS Centre in Toronto, and a strong believer in the Neurohospitalist model of care. She sees a large volume of inpatients and outpatients with CNS autoimmune conditions and is very involved in medical education at the University of Toronto.

Cancellation of paid registrations: For refunds, notice of cancellation must be received in writing to info@csim.ca no later than three business days prior to the date of the workshop. No refunds will be provided after this deadline. All refunds will have an administration fee of $10 (+ tax).
