Learning Objectives
- Be familiar with contemporary evidence on prediction and diagnosis of preeclampsia using placental biomarkers.
- Develop an approach for the prevention of preeclampsia including pharmacological and non-pharmacological strategies.
- Identify and generate a differential diagnosis for preeclampsia mimickers.
- Review management of hypertension in pregnancy, including blood pressure targets, timing of delivery and implications for long term maternal health.

About Dr. Serena Gundy
Dr Serena Gundy is an Assistant Professor at McMaster University and Director of the Obstetric Medicine Program. She has a particular interest in quality improvement, postpartum care, and the impact of pregnancy specific complications on short and long term maternal health risk. She developed and runs the Postpartum Vascular Clinic, which provides education, risk stratification and counseling for people who have experienced a Hypertensive Disorder of Pregnancy.
