Dr. Vijay Daniels
<\/strong><\/p>\n

Vijay Daniels is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine at the University of Alberta. After graduating from the University of Manitoba medical school, he completed his Core Internal Medicine residency and General Internal Medicine subspecialty training at the University of Alberta. He has been on faculty at the University of Alberta since 2009. He also completed the Master of Health Professions Education program at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2013.<\/p>\n

Vijay has had significant leadership roles during his career. During his time as the Associate Program Director (Assessment) for the Core Internal Medicine residency program, he developed a competency-based assessment framework that enabled the program to launch Competence-By-Design two years ahead of most of the country. Vijay\u2019s current roles include Assistant Dean, Assessment for the MD Program, and Associate Chair, Education and Faculty Development for the Department of Medicine.<\/p>\n

Dr. Daniels is a well-recognized teacher and mentor both in the clinical and non-clinical environment with over 30 awards\/accolades for teaching and mentoring excellence since 2009 including the Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada\u2019s Clinical Teacher award given to one outstanding teacher from across the country.<\/p>\n
