He has Life Fellowship of The College of Physicians of South Africa. He was one of \u00ab\u00a0The 101 Bara Doctors\u00a0\u00bb who challenged apartheid health policies, and one of the \u00ab\u00a0final 6\u00a0\u00bb who played a pivotal role in defeating the old regime in that action.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Dr. Kenyon relocated to Canada in 1991, where he built a distinguished career, became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians &amp; Surgeons of Canada and was designated a \u00ab\u00a0Founder\u00a0\u00bb of the specialty of General Internal Medicine. Dr. Kenyon is a member of the Waap Lagaax Gisbutwada, Ts\u2019msyen First Nation, he is known as \u201cHalaaytim Lax G\u2019eelm\u201d or \u201cShaman of the Kalum,\u201d and he currently serves as Head of Internal Medicine and ICU in Terrace. He is a Fellow of The American College of Physicians &amp; Past Governor of the BC Chapter.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>His contributions to the medical community include serving as Head of Critical Care at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital most of 2001- 2022, establishing a tertiary ICU at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital, an HAU Service (and new buildings for both) and helping to create a nephrology service that led to the opening of the Nanaimo Renal Unit in 2010. He did 3 tours of duty in the Role 3 (Main) Combat Hospital ICU on Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan. His dedication has earned him several accolades, including the 2019 UBC Faculty of Medicine Award for Career Excellence in Clinical Teaching, the 2020 RCCBC Award of Excellence in Rural Medicine: Lifetime Achievement and the 2023 Mikhail Award for Medical Education. After attending UNB for her undergraduate degree, she completed her Masters degree in pharmacoepidemiology at McGill University. After that, she completed her core internal medicine training at Dalhousie University in Saint John and now is in her fellowship in General Internal Medicine.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Outside of her professional life, Dr. Lariv\u00e9e enjoys thrifting and crafting, running, and watching British crime shows. She enjoys community medicine and looking forward to set up her practice.
